Why have a new home inspection?

After many years of performing home inspections, I highly recommend anyone that is planning on building a newly constructed home or purchasing from a previous owner to have an inspection before you close. It would be even better, to include a pre-drywall inspection, this will allow the inspector to see issues that would otherwise be very difficult to spot. Many issues can go unseen and undetected until problems arise for the new owner, bringing high repair costs. Below are a few examples of what I have found within a recent new home construction inspection.
Improper wire junction is not grounded in the service box.
Service wire conduit improperly connected.
